Lakers making a Move?

Disclaimer:I in no way am I planning to now or in any time in the future rescind my fandom of the Los Angeles Lakers.

In light of recent events... The Kobe Saga, The Ascension by Portland into being a future Dynasty, The All-Around Talent in the Western Conference, The absolute random-ness of the east... etc. I, In my high-standing position in the Lakers organization have decided to execute a trade. Yes, i know another trade offer... Well, i promise you.. its different.

I offer the Los Angeles Lakers organization in return for either the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, St. Lois Rams or Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This trade will make all of us happy finally giving L.A. its Football team... However, it will probably need to have other parties involved to make it work... because the clippers can't handle L.A. by themselves... they'll probably degenerate into a sorry franchise whose crowning achievements are making the playoffs 7 times and reaching the conference finals only once in 37 years... oh.......... wait.

Ok... so my proposed trade goes as follows...

Los Angeles Lakers, Oakland Raiders: to Pittsburgh
I suppose this is fair pay for the Steelers and Penguins. You get the most star-packed organization in NBA History along with another Storied franchise in the Raiders. I know this is a football-heavy town but the Raiders have an interesting future and they get one of the best franchises in history with the Lakers. (It also gets the Lakers out of the west and into the East,) where a team led by a lineup of Crittenton, Kobe, Odom, Gasol and Bynum as their starting lineup in 2 to 3 years will rampage to the finals year-after-year. However, to make this work the Lakers will have to change the purple in their unis to black and the Raiders will have to change their silver to yellow. Sorry, City Rules.
Portland Trail Blazers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins: to Los Angeles
This gives the city of Angels a great package for about equal price. We get one of the greatest Football franchises in History in the Steelers to make up for all those years without a football team. (its 12 and counting.) And we also get the Blazers, who I praised highly just one post ago. This team has more young talent than Hugh Hefner. And as for the Penguins... Let's just say they're the Blazers of the NHL. Sidney Crosby is making ME want to see Hockey... ME, i thought i'd never see the day.
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim(that just makes me giggle) :to Portland
The city of Portland gets a Major League ball club to feed the new baseball fever started by back-to-back College world series championships. And this isn't just any Baseball team... No this is a true title-contender who's is stacked with so much talnet, the city of roses wont miss a beat with the blazers gone.
Los Angeles Clippers, Oakland A's: to San Diego
In Exchange for the most talented team in Football right now the City of San Diego gets another Baseball team and the NBA team that left them 23 years ago. This puts them in a great spot and allows them to not skip a beat. it also gets the Clippers out of Staples.
San Diego Chargers: to Oakland
In exchange for The Raiders and A's Oakland gets LT and his Boys... 'Nuff Said

It may take all the parties involved a little while to get accustomed to the idea... but after a while it should all work out fine.

The Future has arrived...

First of all id like to point out that Steven A. Smith is a bit opinionated... just in case you didn't figure that out by now. I'm ecstatic with the Los Angeles Lakers almost having the perfect Draft. First we drafted Javaris Crittenton who i am absolutely loopy about. Getting him at #19 was a dream come true. Next came the #40 Pick in the draft where top 20 player Derek Byars fell into our lap for a perfect pick for our positional needs along with being the best player on the board. However, Mitch Kupcake took Sun Yue a Chinese player that plays the same positions as Byars who was drafted 2 spots later. I had him at about the same level as Al Thornton and Law but the Kupcake took the chinese player that played in the ABA last year. 8 picks later we took Marc Gasol, Pau's brother who is very talented and could be a steal worthy of Clooney at #48. However not as big of a steal as Byars at #40 would have been. While some compare Yue to Boris Diaw i doubt taking him over the more talented Byars is just stupid by Kupcake's part. I mean people were comparing Byars to last year's ROY Roy (doesn't that just make you giggle?.....................no?....................well, why would it that is so stupid..............whoever laughs at that is a wierdo......................right? ..........................is that what im supposed to say?.............................i think im being controlled by all those Lymon sprite commercials.....................GREEN SUMO WRESTLERS GOOD...............im just ranting now................i could say anything right now an you would dismiss it and accept it as part of the rant......................let me think of something good to say.................................................................................................................. nah, can't think of anything) im completely lost now. By the way.... did anyone else notice that Portland is going to win like 4 or 5 Championships in a row now? I mean look at them!
C:Greg Oden
F:LaMarcus Aldridge
F:Channing Frye
SG:Brandon Roy
PG:
Jarrett Jack
And: Sergio Rodriguez PG, Rudy Fernandez SG, Travis Outlaw SF, Taurean Green PG, Martell Webster F, Josh McRoberts F, Demetris Nichols F
In addition to all that young talent and Steve Francis They also have multiple Projects in Europe like Joel Freeland C and Petteri Koponen PG who could work out and add even more to their young talent. Thats just plain scary, and with Durant and Green going to Seattle they could be a force for years to come (even though they do have Szcerbiak...) making the pacific northwest the sudden capital of the NBA world... Along with Toronto and Chicago of course... i mean Colangelo is a bloody (pardon the english english) genius nad the Bulls have so much young talent it will be imossible not to root for them. Just you wait in 5 years the conference finals will be Seattle v. Portland and Toronto v. Chicago with Portland going on to beat Toronto in the finals... Write it down... 2012.

Just Blogging about whatever

Usually when i read a blog there is a purpose. The person set out to write about something in particular. I dont have anything in particular to write about but i just have nothing else to do...

My fantasy team keeps on chugging along im about to acquire a fellow blogger of mine in Curt Schilling. Im giving VMart for Brian McCann and Schilling. Schilling is obviously in the downside of his career, but he is still very effective and remains in the top twenty in terms of production in the majors. Check his blog out.

i saw the new Fantastic 4. the only thing good about it was Jessica Alba, but even she couldn't escape the overall crappiness of the movie. It had little plot substance, diverged from the comic books and had terrible, dumbed-dpwn dialogue.

i found two great websites: one is called google and the other is yahoo... No, seriously they are Blogmusik.net and baseball-reference.com. One is a site which basically gives you any song you would want to hear in english in full length and the other is full of baseball statistics from the 1880's and every boxscore since 1957.

I was watching Baseball Tonight today... It struck me as funny how Fernando ViƱa kept on emphasizing how he had "faced this guy many times in his career" as if saying that he should have more say in the matter over Buster Olney who could only rely on his spectator view. I thought it was funny to see and hear. It might have been intentional or maybe there was something else there.

I'll be back (as our highly injected governor would quip)

Kobe Trades!

Ok so the cavs lost... I guess it wasnt much of a surprise. It would have been nice for them to win a single game though. I have larger things on my mind (how far have the finals fallen) Kobe. I am entirely confused by kobe's actions. I think that even kobe is confused by kobe's actions. He has said that he wants to be traded and he has also said that he doesnt want to be traded. I dont know which statement by the mamba to believe. However if he does end up wanting to be traded then i will not continue defending his actions... This is because that would be the final straw. I will join the already heavily populated ranks of Kobe haters. However right now i am content in probably narrow sighted view of laker fandom. I think that all will end well in the kingdom of lakerland. I hope we trade for O'Neal (Jermaine) and convince the increasingly whiny Bryant to stay. This is because he remains the best player in the NBA. However if he does in fact decide to leave then there is no doubt that there are several intruiging possibilities if we decide to trade Kobe.

1.Kobe, Radmanovic, Vujacic To Bulls for Gordon, Deng, Thomas and #9 pick.

This would be a very intruiging offer for the lakers which would leave us with a very young and talented core for the Lakers to build their future around. We would have Odom, Bynum, Gordon, Deng, Thomas and whomever we pick with the 9th pick. The 9th pick could be used to pick several players which could either be: Spencer Hawes who is an old school player that has numerous post moves and could develop into a very special player, Mike Conley A very talented PG from Ohio State that would give us an great young backcourt with Gordon and Farmar, Thaddeus Young a great guard from Georgia Tech who seems like a Paul pierce type player, or Julian Wright who is a tantalizing talent and could end up outplaying several of the players ahead of him but has develpoed an image of underachievement.

2.Kobe, Radmanovic for Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, and the #3 Pick

This is another trade that would give the lakers a bright future with Odom, Bynum, Johnson, Smith and one of numerous talent the Lakers could select with the 3rd pick, including:Brandan Wright, the talented forward from UNC, Al Horford, The NBA Ready, force in the paint and Jeff Green the athletic small forward from G-Town. They could form yet another potent core for the Lakers to build around.

3.Kobe, Radmanovic, Sasha to NYK; Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, Jeffries, #23 to Boston; Kwame, David Lee, Steve Francis to IND; Paul Pierce, Jermaine O'Neal, Ike Diogu, 2 1st rounders to LAL.

This is the kind of trade that many are looking for... a big blockbuster involving several superstars and many teams. However, this is just the kind of trade that i hope the Lakers don't make. This will compromise the future while getting two Stars for right now. I would much rather get the young players and the lottery picks.

4.Kobe, Sasha, VladRam, #40, #48, next year's #2 for Arenas, Jarvis Hayes, Antawn Jamison, #16 pick, next year's #1

With this trade the Lakers get another high scoring, high ego-ed guard that can help them not miss a beat. Something tells me that Gilbert wont miss a beat in the hollywood spotlight. They would have a superstar and two great second fiddle forwards in jamison and odom and still get a promising young guard in Hayes and two future first-rounders.

5.Kobe, VladRam, Sasha for Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa, Diaw, next year's ATL first rounder.

I don't think that the Kupcake has the balls to make this move. trading the most dangerous scorer in the league to a division rival. However, this would give the lakers a great young core. Amare (one of my favorite players), Odom, Barbosa, Diaw and a great chance of selecting O.J. Mayo next year. This would probably be the best deal in terms of value but i doubt the kupcake would ever do it.

So there are several trades that could help the lakers in the long and short term. I wouldn't mind any of these. BTW i want the Lakers to draft Nick Young with the #19. If they dont get him they should call whomever does get him and offer the 19th and Cook or Evans for him. 'cause Young is gonna be special. Of course it doesnt have anything to do with my fanhood of 'SC.

Hou Da Man!

This happened one night at my house. My little sister was showing off for the camera and i just tackled her. It has become a classic in my family... Enjoy!

LeBron, LeBron and some more LeBron!!!

WOW!!! that was amazing. That performance gave me chills. LeBron scored his teams last 25 points, 29 of their last 30 and their last 11 FGs. He basically carried the Cavs to a 3-2 series lead going back home for game 6. This isn't over yet but he may have just carried them to the finals on his back, single-handedly to the franchise's first NBA Finals. this ranks high up there in NBA Lore. There is no question about it. If he plays anything close to how he did today then the Spurs may have to get a little worried. This is emphasized by a certain emphatic dunk performed by lebron earlier in the season.

Straying a bit from LeBron, Billy Donovan once again showed how truly worthless NCAA coaching contracts really are by apparently signing with the orlando Magic after making all those temporarily relieved gator fans out there believe he wasn't following his top four players into the NBA. However he provided even more proof than the huggins and Gillipsie debacles of earlier in the year.

One more thing amused me recently. This was A-Rod's controversial play against the blue jays. He shouted behind a blue Jay player trying to catch a pop fly causing him to believe that a teammate was calling him off. i don't really know what to make about this except that it reminds me a lot of Willie Mays Hayes performing this same tactic in one of the major league movies. i found it funny in the movie but a little bit unprofessional in real life.

Go Cavs!
